Practical Masking

The day will cover some important issues in audiometry, namely bone-conduction testing and masking.

Topics will include:

  • The reasons for b-c tests, correct method and sources of error

  • The need for masking in a-c & b-c tests

  • Correct method including the use of masking charts

  • Recent changes to the BSA Recommended Procedures

  • Practical workshop - audiometers provided or you can bring your own

  • Practical and theory assessment - just for fun

The course is intended for assistant audiologists and students with some experience in audiometry. The course fee of £250 includes a detailed lecture pack.

Continuing Professional Development:

CPD accreditation is being sought from BAA & BSHAA. Certificates of course completion will be provided for CPD purposes.
